"Whether You Prefer Metal, Wood, Or Fabric - Curtain
Tiebacks Are Always In Perfect Taste"
Curtain
tiebacks are much more than a way to hold your curtains and
draperies back. Tie backs are also a great way to turn an ordinary
drape, into something a little more special, especially if the
budget won't allow for new curtains.
Curtain tie backs will allow more light into the room. The height
of the tie backs vary, depending on the effect you are trying to
achieve. Note: 2/3 of way down the curtain is the most popular
height.
You want to make sure that the tie backs are long enough and the
correct length, so as not to "squish" the drapes.
Tie backs are quite often included as part of a set. However, tie
backs can be purchased separately as well. You can use contrasting
colors or match them exactly with the curtains and drapes.
There are generally 2 types of tiebacks, soft (made from fabrics
like
lace) and hard (metal & wood), which is usually the same as
the curtain and various metal types like
wrought iron, antique and
glass. The "hard" tie backs usually screw into the wall.
And here is another creative use of tie backs... use them as towel
holders, especially if you have unique "one-of-a-kind" ones.
As a decorative window accent, as a way to allow more light in,
and to keep your curtains, drapes or valances tied down on a
breezy day, tiebacks are a must have for soft
window coverings. So
get creative and enjoy this inexpensive way to add a little
something to your decor!
